電気絶縁性、耐候性、耐老化性が優れ、空気の透過率が小さいので自動車用タイヤチューブ、電気絶縁用など工業用部品に使用されています。また耐水性に優れ、水の吸着性が他の合成ゴムに比べて小さく、極性溶剤についても耐性が良好です。反発弾性が小さいため、振動吸収の用途でも抜群の性能を持っています。
